Increase Link Using Spott

Spottt is a free link exchange service. They have a simple concept, they will lead the advertising or introduce or display ads in your site or blog for other member blog with 125 x 125 pixels ads.

In my opinion, this program almost has the same system like Entrecard. The difference is the Spottt fully automatic, but not better than Entrecard regarding driving the traffic to my blog.

You only need to insert small HTML code in your blog or site ( probably sidebar ). Then the Spottt time will review it for the approval, normally take 24 hours to approve your submission. After the Spottt approve your blog, they will start to promote or display the other member blog’s banner in your blog or site.

Spottt use the credit system for displaying the blog in other blogs. You will earn credit when the other blog’s banner displayed in your Spottt space, and its counted by page view normally.

As mentioned before, Spottt is fully automatic. you will display the other blog in your blog or site and also the other member blog will display your blog blog in his/her blog. It’s really fear ratio, 1 : 1.

If you have lot of visitor or page view in your blog or site means that you will earn lot of credit which will impact to the frequently of your blog or displayed in other blog.

This is not a make money program, but the tool to support your make money programs. So, you can check it out by yourself to see how its working for you…

Increase traffic by entrecard

High traffic is the requirement and the important thing to be a famous blog or site. There are lot of thing can be effected by high traffic in your blog such as the possibility of clicking your contextual ads, increasing the revenue by impression and other making money programs. The traffic ranks or traffic competition can be found in Alexa rank.

Several weeks ago, I joined with the Entrecard which claimed their program can increase my blog traffic or visitor. Entrecard used the free advertising of your blog in the other blog. In another word, the Entrecard is inviting one blog to introduce or publish the other blog on his own blog or site. I found that my traffic was increased and increased……. I am sure that you want to increase your traffic with this way also…

First of all, you must register to have the Entrecard account. When you sign up to Entrecard, they will ask you to put your Entrecard (entrecard HTML code) in your blog or site. Then you are done for the while. Now, how to advertise your blog or site in the other blogs?

The Entrecard used ec (entre credit) to advertise in other blogs or sites. Oke….., the credit will earned by you when you drop (click drop) in other blog’s or site’s Entrecard. The ec (entre credit) also can be earned when the other blogs or sites are advertised in your blog. You can drop as much as you can to other blog. But remember, you only allowed for dropping one time a day in one blog or site. When you have enough ec (entre credit) in your Entrecard account, you can advertise your blog in other blogs or sites.

How the traffic increase with Entrecard? The entire members of Entrecard need to have an enough ec (entre credit) to be able to advertise his blog in other blogs or sites. It’s means that they need to visit the other blog ( hope that your blog or site included ) to drop their card, this means traffic to your blog right?

The Entrecard also very useful to introduce my blog to the other blogger, it’s proved on lot of new visitor or blogger came to my blog and my readers were increased. I would like to say thanks for the Entrecard which make my blog known by the other blogger.

Important Thing In Starting a Blog

The "five minute installation" at wordpress is not "five minutes" but more like a four hour torture session. It's designed to check if you are serious about this blog thing. After four hours, I found the fantistco button on my cpanel and I was up and running. No one shared that helpful hint with me. I just saved you four hours.

Your theme is more important than you imagine. It is your reader's first impression. More importantly, it's not easy to change after you have posted for awhile. Spend more time on a theme than I did.

Traffic analysis tools like google analytics are required but I will issue a warning. It is the first person in the morning to tell you that you have no friends. Don't even think about visitors. Here is how it works. You wake up hoping that someone found your site in these early stages. Maybe they will subscribe too. But the stats say three visitors. They also spend less than two minutes on your site. It's more like a drive-by stop. Google analytics should just say "good morning, you are still a loser today. Why don't you write another post for you and your mom."

How many times have you heard "write content and the readers will follow". It sounds easy. In the beginning ideas flow on the blog. But, finding good ideas to write about everyday is not easy. I let search traffic guide me. Isn't that how the Google algorithm finds the best site. Hopefully, I can do that and convince new subscribers and at least one-third of my current subscribers( my mom) to return and read because the posts are good.

Another axiom is "contests are an easy way to get traffic". Who wouldn't want a chance to win a free prize? Don't count on a thousand visitors. But, isn't that what John Chow did. Then a week later the two people who signed up for it are laughing at the fifty-fifty chance at your free prize. The funny part is that you had to tell your mom that she can't enter. Now, you have alienated one third of your subscriber base already.

Write Article With 5 Effective Step

Whether you are a blogger or a freelance writer or an article marketer, you need to write effective articles quickly. If you are doing one of those as a full time job, you must really use your time properly and try to write more articles in less time. Here are few things you should do when you sit to write an article or blog post.

1. Close Every Other Application

Ever installed any software? Few of them ask you to close other applications when installing it. The same should be followed when you sit to write an article. Close the chat client first. This is probably the one which eats up most of your time. Next, close your email client. Don’t have any other application open, other than your writing software. You should not open any of the applications when you are writing the article. You can open your browser when you want to look for some reference, but close it again as soon as you are done. Don’t check your blog traffic stats, AdSense earnings or anything else as well.

2. Do Research Before Writing

It is always better to do a little research before writing the article. This will help you to write an effective article. The quality of the article will show clearly that you have researched. Almost every blog post that hits the front page of social bookmarking sites is well researched and structured. By doing research, you also make your article longer and in depth.

3. Prepare a Schedule

Preparing a schedule will help you in saving time. Set a time for each and everything you do for the article. You can allocate 30 minutes or whatever you are comfortable with, for writing the article itself. Set 5 minutes for selecting an image. Also have 10-15 minutes for collecting references and coming up with a catchy headline. Within an hour, you should be able to create some top notch content.

4. Proof Read At Least Once

This is very important and most people skip this due to lack of time (or patience). This will prove to be costly when you are writing for some other person or for a client. Once you finish writing the post, read it once. If you have written many articles and don’t have time to proof read all of them, hire a person to do the work for you.

5. Do the Editing Till You Are Satisfied

Once you have completed writing the article, do the formatting works. Place the image at the right place. Give credit to the image author if needed. Preview the article. If it is what you wanted, publish the article. If not, continue with your editing and formatting. Add quotes to the post to make it more effective. Tie any loose ends.

Uncovering The Truth Behind A Hotmail Founder’s Claims

In 2007 Jessica Livingston, a founding partner at Y Combinator, released a book called Founders at Work: Stories of Startups’ Early Days in which she transcribed over thirty extensive interviews with some of Silicon Valleys most notable successes. Included in the book was an interview with Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia, who detailed the experiences he had raising money for the webmail startup and its subsequent acquisition by Microsoft for a tidy sum of $400 million.

In the interview, Bhatia made some strong accusations regarding early-stage venture fund Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), stating that DFJ had actively tried to dissuade other VCs from investing in the company (so that they could be the only ones to invest in Hotmail’s funding rounds). He also denied that DFJ’s Tim Draper had come up with the idea of including ‘viral’ taglines at the end of each message inviting new users to join Hotmail, instead attributing the idea to Hotmail co-founder Jack Smith. Today Livingston has written a blog post asserting that some of the statements made by Bhatia are incorrect:

I received evidence yesterday that some of the things Sabeer Bhatia said in his interview in Founders at Work were false. The evidence indicates that (a) Tim Draper rather than Jack Smith had the idea of putting a Hotmail ad at the bottom of emails sent by the service, and (b) that DFJ didn’t disparage Hotmail to other VCs interested in investing.

The corrections are notable for a number of reasons. While Founders At Work may not be a national bestseller, it has become very popular in the startup community (it currently ranks second on Amazon’s list of books in the ‘High-Tech’ category), so Bhatia’s claims may well have impacted DFJ. In the tight-knit Silicon Valley community, reputation is extremely important among VCs and such statements can be damaging, even if the events involved occurred well over a decade ago. The fact that Tim Draper was also apparently responsible for one of the elements that helped make Hotmail massively successful also serves to dispel the myth that most investors’ only contribution is money - clearly, the good ones have far more to offer.

Livingston isn’t at liberty to share the evidence that led her to believe that Bhatia’s statements were false, but the fact that she wrote the blog post indicates that it is extremely compelling (authors don’t take such corrections lightly). It also sounds like Bhatia had previously requested that the statements in question be removed from future editions of the book, though he didn’t indicate that they were untrue (it sounds like his burnt bridges were coming back to haunt him). In a post on a message board, Livingston writes:

Sabeer approved the interview before publication, but after the book was published he asked me to remove those parts if there was a second edition. He didn’t say specifically that the things he said were false, just that they hurt people’s feelings. (Many people in the book cut stuff out of their interviews, but usually because the material was controversial or confidential, not false.) But once I got evidence that what he said was actually false, it seemed appropriate to post a statement about it immediately.

Since leaving Hotmail, Bhatia has begun a number of other ventures, including Live Documents, an online Microsoft Office clone that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast.

Freelance Business and Gardening

Getting a freelance business to grow is something that every freelancer struggles with from time to time.

As I was driving through the country the other day, I noticed that many of the trees and plants are already starting to bud. As the daughter of an avid gardener, I immediately thought of my father’s vegetable garden and the care that he took each year to insure that we had fresh fruits and vegetables in our home. Then it struck me.

Growing a freelance business is an awful lot like growing a garden. Many of the same principles that my father used to grow his vegetable garden also apply to my freelancing business and can probably help you grow your business as well.

Here are 5 gardening principles that can help grow your freelance business:

1. Gardening is a deliberate activity.

My father did not haphazardly toss a bunch of seeds into the air and wind up with his delicious tomatoes and tasty corn a couple of months later. No, instead he carefully planted each seed at the right depth in the soil. Before planting, he even carefully determined whether the plant needed sunlight or shade.

Freelancing is also a deliberate activity. A successfully freelancer doesn’t haphazardly apply for every freelancing gig they see and hope that somehow they will wind up with the right work. Instead, he or she carefully looks for the gigs that they are most qualified to complete. In addition, the successful freelancer follows through on applications and contacts.

2. Gardening takes time.

As gardener, my father dedicated a set amount of time each day to work on his garden. He often had to wait weeks, and sometimes even months, before he could enjoy the fruits of his labor.

Freelancing takes time. A successful freelancer also dedicates a set amount of time each day to work on their freelancing business. They may have to wait weeks, months, or even years to see the full results of their work.

3. A garden needs to be fed.

My father was a little bit ahead of his time in that he liked to use organic gardening principles. I still remember his attempts at making his own natural fertilizer from vegetable peelings and other organic kitchen scraps. The important thing is that he knew that his plants sometimes needed more than what the native soil could offer.

A freelance business also needs to be fed. You might have great natural abilities or a fine education, but to feed your freelancing business you may need to brush up on current methodologies and technologies. Or, your old computer equipment might be fine for home use, but not adequate for the robust needs of your budding freelance business. Feed your business by getting the training and equipment that you need.

4. A garden needs to be protected.

A good gardener knows how to protect their plants from harm. Sadly, there are parasites out there that can destroy a garden within days. A careful gardener will learn how to effectively protect their garden from insects and disease and then will take the appropriate steps to protect it.

A freelance business needs to be protected. Sadly, there are scammers and deadbeat clients out there that can ruin a freelancing business if the freelancer is not careful. A successful freelancer is on the lookout for scam artists. He or she should carefully review and research each perspective client before accepting work.

5. A garden needs to be weeded.

Anyone who has ever grown a garden knows that gardens get weeds. If left unchecked, the weeds can choke out the garden plants and either stunt their growth or even destroy them. To keep a garden healthy, from time to time the weeds must be removed.

A freelance business sometimes needs to be weeded. Does one low-paying client take a disproportionate amount of your time? Are some of your clients so difficult to deal with that it is hardly worth doing business with them? Maybe your freelancing business is ready to be weeded.
If cared for properly, a garden can feed you. So can a freelance business.

After a lot of hard work in the garden, my father was able to provide a significant amount of fresh vegetables and fruit for his friends and family. To my taste at least, his homegrown vegetables always tasted a little better than what could be bought in the store.

If cared for properly, a freelancing business can feed you. With a lot of hard work, a freelancing business can meet all or some of your financial needs. If you’re like me, you’ll feel a greater sense of pride in working for a business that you built yourself than you felt when you worked for someone else.
